Experience: Bob recently moved to Dayton Area from the west coast. Bob started sailing and racing sailboats in LA in 1963. Place second in his class in his 1st regatta, the Mid-winters in LA, largest regatta in the country that year. Bob raced Hobies in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years. Owned two H16's, one H17' and one H18'. Always raced in A Fleet and usually placed in the top three. Placed 2nd overall in the NW Division in four consecutive years. Sailed in two Hobie Nationals: 18s and 17s.
Bob bought and restored a Hobie 33 but then sold it, but missed the feeling of a good multihull.
Bob now owns a
Corsair F24 II, but has not campaigned it much. Not a lot of water or many
sailors in Dayton, but he loves the boat. Bob wants to experience multihull
sailing on the Great Lakes and is very interested in crewing in the Mills Race.
